GOD IN THE FLESH By the author named Luke

Luke was a medical doctor and he used his skills in observation and analysis to investigate the stories about Jesus. The purpose for doctor Luke was to present an accurate account of the life of Christ and to present Christ as the perfect human and Savior. (NLT) Col. 4:14 Dear Doctor Luke sends his greeting, and so does Demas, a Greek and Gentile Christian. He is the only known Gentile doctor and author in the New Testament. Luke was a close friend and traveling companion of Paul. He also wrote in the book of Acts, and the two books go together. Doctor Luke explained to us, every child borne is a gift from God; however, nearly 20 centuries ago, there was the miracle of miracles. A baby was born, but he was the Son of God. The Gospels tell of this birth, but Dr. Luke, as though he were the attending physician, provides most of the details surrounding this awesome occasion. With a divine Father and human mother, Jesus entered history - God in the flesh. Luke affirms Jesus’ divinity, but the real emphasis of his book is on Jesus’ humanity. Jesus, the Son of God, is also the Son of Man. His Gospel and book of Acts are reliable, historical documents.
Doctor Luke gives us a brief event of Jesus. (NLT) Luke 2:41-42 every year Jesus’ parents went to Jerusalem for the Passover festival. 42 When Jesus was twelve years old, they attended the festival as usual. Jesus discussed theology with Jewish teachers of the law at the Temple. (NLT) Luke 3:15,16 Everyone was expecting the Messiah to come soon, and they were eager to know whether John might be the Messiah. 16 John answered their questions by saying, “I baptize with*water; but someone is coming soon who is greater than I am- so much greater that I am not even worthy to be his slave. * He will baptize you with Holy Spirit and with fire. (NLT) Luke 3:21-23 One day when the crowds were being baptized, Jesus himself was baptized. As he was praying, the heavens opened, 22 and the Holy Spirit descended on him in the form of a dove. And a voice from heaven said, “You are my beloved Son, and I am fully pleased with you*” 23 Jesus was about thirty years old when he began his public ministry. From Luke 3:23-38 you will find that Luke traces Jesus’ genealogy on his stepfather Joseph’s side, through David and Abraham back to Adam, underscoring Jesus’ identity as the Son of Man.
(NLT) Luke 4:1-13 tells us Satan Tempted Jesus in the wilderness. (NLT) Luke 5:1-9 tells us Jesus Provided a Miraculous Catch of Fish. (NLT) Luke 5:10,11 His partners, James and John, the sons of Zebedee, were also amazed. Jesus replied to Simon, “Don’t be afraid! From now on you’ll be fishing for people! 11 And as soon as they landed, they left everything and followed Jesus. Luke 10:17-20 17 When the seventy-two disciples return, they joyfully reported to him, “Lord, even the demons obey us when we use your name!” 18 “Yes,” he told them, “I saw Satan falling from heaven as a flash of lightning 19 And I have given you authority over all power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you. 20 But don’t rejoice just because evil spirits obey you; rejoice because your names are registered as citizens of heaven.
Luke described how God’s Son entered human history. Jesus lived as the perfect example of a human. After a perfect ministry, he provided a perfect sacrifice for our sin so we could be saved. Amen to that!!!
There are many good scriptures written by doctor Luke about our Lord Jesus Christ. I encourage every Christian to read and understand it.
I truly believe, we should all thank Dr. Luke for keeping these valuable records, so today we can trace the Son of God (Jesus’) history and we can appreciate much more about our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!!! Think for a minute, if doctor Luke didn’t keep a good record of our Lord Jesus, today I believe we all would be lost? Don’t you all agree with me? As you can see Jesus entered history- God in the flesh. Amen!!!
